also, we are throwning a wake for nils. oh, you ask what happen to nils? well, nothing. he's out of town so we are throwing him a wake. we're going to drink his booze and tell our best horror stories about him.

if you have a terrifying story about you and nils and you aren't in denver, please email us or leave a comment and we will read it at the wake, and have a drink for you.....

the best tomato soup

david's aunt leota tomato soup recipe

Can in pint jars - twenty minute in a hot water bath

TOMATO JUICE FOR SOUP
2 gallons of tomatoes (wash & cut - start cooking in a pot)
1 stalk celery
1 green pepper
6 medium onions
(mince celery, pepper and onions & add to tomatoes cooking)

RUE SAUCE

1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup canning salt
1 cup butter
(mix and set aside - blend with a small amount of tomato juice


Instuctions
- cook tomato mixture for one hour.
- pour tomato mixture through a food mill or seive
- take the tomato juice and bring back up to a boil
- slowly add the flour tomato mixture in to the tomato juice
- cook until soup is mixed thoroughly
- add a few peppercorns and garlic cloves towards the end

Makes 10 - 12 pints

progress but not tidy

where in the world is dad?

Dad is leaving colorado on thursday 14 august.
he is going back to virginia for an undetermined "short" amount of time.

I would like to place bets on when he returns to colorado.

please let me know what date you would lke to reserve and what would you like as a reward.

He just asked me last week to book him a ticket. This man can come and go as quickly as the wind!

He has helped gio and i so much this summer! There's no way we could ever repay my father for the help that he gives all of us!

months have gone by with out an update about the progress aobut the house......

so, here it is.

we've tone out walls, rewired the parts of the house, leveled floors and ceilings....what else? new kitchen!!!!
